Presenter Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in presenting a program to the North Bay
Coaches.
Our 2007 program mission is to advance the skills of the coaching community
through meaningful and engaging programs for the benefit of our clients,
community, members, and the coaching profession. We request that you provide
us with information on your proposed program in the form below. The Program
Committee will review your proposal and contact you regarding next steps.
Who We Are:
We are a spirited, focused, mutually-supportive group of personal and
corporate coaches with a wide range of different kinds of clients and
different kinds of practices. There are usually 25-30 of us at our meetings,
and we are always eager to learn. You’ll find us to be an active,
engaged audience.
- The NBC community includes a cross-section of coaches including those
who work with individuals and those working in the public, private and
nonprofit sectors in a coaching capacity.
- We are diverse in our levels of experience, ranging from the novice
coach to seasoned coaches with more than 10 years in practice.
- A significant number are recognized leaders in the coaching industry.
- We have either earned our coaching certifications or we’re
in training programs working toward certification.
- NBC is a chapter member of the International
Coach Federation, and we work closely with our sister ICF chapters
in the East Bay, Silicon Valley, and San Francisco.
Presentation Criteria:
Our programs by outside presenters offer:
- Development of coaching skills and expertise
- Innovative tools and skills which can be applied with coaching clients
- Interactive, engaging programs which facilitate learning
- Skills which meet one of the ICF competencies and/or a new coaching
tool, or a self-awareness tool
- Content which is new and unique
Information and Transformation
We like both. We like to apply the coaching spirit to our professional
development programs. During a typical coaching session, our clients go
through changes. They may learn new information, but more importantly,
they move forward in their lives and they develop themselves in some way
that matters to them.
Similarly, we look to our programs to give us the challenge of change.
This means that we appreciate the chance to personally integrate the material
that our presenter is providing. We’re big fans of interactive learning,
although we know that there are some subjects that don’t lend themselves
to this. But whenever possible, interactive learning is our first choice.
We like live demonstrations, dyads, triads, active exercises, and big
questions—asking them and being asked.
Our Meetings
Our meetings are held in Novato and begin with networking at 6:30 pm and
promptly start our program at 7 p.m. Presenters have 1.5 hours to provide
their program. The typical audience size is 25-30 attendees made up of
new coaches to seasoned coaches. We also attract professionals from other
areas such as psychologists, organizational development consultants and
human resource professionals. Presenters are welcome to bring promotional
materials such as workshops or books. Additionally, presenters may bring
one guest at no charge.
